Ivor is the distinguished good looking one on the left,and believe it or not he is Ken's dad!.
Ivor belongs Ardoyne in Belfast but now lives in Melbourne Australia. Ivor's son Ken lives in Queensland Australia.
Ivor and Ken had talked about playing in the Black Bush for years before finally participating in 2001,where our group met them at the opening ceremony at Portrush golf club.
Ivor had been told just before he was due to fly out for the 2001 tournament that he needed a triple bypass,which was due to be done during the Black Bush week.
Ivor balanced things up and decided to go to the golf instead!
We are pleased to say that when Ivor got back he had surgery and the rest is history.Ivor wrote an article for the Hacker golf magazine in Australia,who featured his story in their magazine.
Ken did not make it over in 2003,but we caught up with Ivor once again at the opening ceremony at Portrush when we had a brilliant time with celebrity guest Steve Davis.
We met up once again in 2005 at the opening ceremony in Portrush golf club and had a great laugh.
We had a memorable couple of nights during this year's tournament,the Monday night at the karaoke was a night to remember and the Thursday night in the Anchor bar in Portstewart was a great night as well.
Ivor reckons he might not be back over for the tournament,which will be a real shame as we all know how much he enjoys being back home,we just hope that your health holds out Ivor and you are back again to this wonderful event.
No matter what happens Ivor thanks for the laughs and the memories,and please keep in contact.
