Davy with our good friends and drinking pals, Brian and Davy from Lisburn in Ballycastle Golf Club on Friday 11th June 2010. The tournament is the Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament. The website is a story of a group of golf mad Scotsmen who travel over from Scotland every year to compete for the Ivor Donaldson Great Shot Trophy. The golfers are all from the historical town of Bannockburn in Central Scotland.
View from Portstewart Golf ClubThe story started about twelve years ago when Alex and Willie came over to play in their first Black Bush tournament. Basically all their golfing mates from home followed on after hearing about the great time the boys had. Alex and Willie raved about the great golf courses, the wonderful local people, who go out their way to make everybody welcome and the camaraderie and craic amongst our fellow competitors in the tournament.
Looking over to Castlerock Golf Club ClubhouseThe competition takes place on four majestic golf courses on the glorious Causeway Coast in county Antrim Northern Ireland. The courses are Portstewart Golf Club, the Valley Golf Club at Portrush, Castlerock Golf Club and last but not least, Ballycastle Golf Club.
Ballycastle Golf ClubCracking golf courses set in magnificent surroundings with some quite breathtaking scenery. The courses we play are all traditional links courses, which test your game and patience to the full, especially when the wind blows. County Antrim is a truly fantastic place for a golf holiday, the local people are the most warm and friendly people you would wish to come across.
The Valley Golf Club PortrushThe Tullamore Dew Causeway Coast amateur golf tournament attracts competitors from every corner of the globe. The tournament is immensely popular, players from 22 different countries participated in 2009.
