The tournament is the Tullamore Dew Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament. The website is a story of a group of golf mad Scotsmen who travel over from Scotland every year to compete for the Ivor Donaldson Great Shot Trophy. The golfers are all from the historical town of Bannockburn in Central Scotland.
The story started about twelve years ago when Alex and Willie came over to play in their first Black Bush tournament. Basically all their golfing mates from home followed on after hearing about the great time the boys had. Alex and Willie raved about the great golf courses, the wonderful local people, who go out their way to make everybody welcome and the camaraderie and craic amongst our fellow competitors in the tournament.
The competition takes place on four majestic golf courses on the glorious Causeway Coast in county Antrim Northern Ireland. The courses are Portstewart Golf Club, the Valley Golf Club at Portrush,Castlerock Golf Club, last but not least Ballycastle Golf Club.
Cracking golf courses set in magnificent surroundings with some quite breathtaking scenery. The courses we play are all traditional links courses, which test your game and patience to the full, especially when the wind blows. County Antrim is a truly fantastic place for a golf holiday, the local people are the most warm and friendly people you would wish to come across.
The Tullamore Dew Causeway Coast amateur golf tournament attracts competitors from every corner of the globe. The tournament is immensely popular, players from 22 different countries participated in 2008.
We started this website seven years ago and have added some webpages for fellow competitors who have e-mailed us their photos and their experiences in the tournament.
We have provided links to their pages on the left hand side of each webpage. Please feel free to e-mail any photos or fond memories from your Black Bush experiences and we will add page(s) to our website for you or your group.
